The Shore Group are proud to be representing one of our Tier 1 M&E contracting partners in their search for an experienced Construction Manager (Electrical Bias). This is an exciting opportunity to join a major data centre project in East London, working on a cutting-edge facility alongside a multidisciplinary team of engineers and industry specialists.
The Role
As a Construction Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day management of site operations, driving productivity and ensuring programme milestones are achieved. You will coordinate the electrical scope of works from design through to commissioning, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance. You will also be responsible for specialist systems including fire alarms, security systems, and ICT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and review electrical design with consultants and subcontractors.

Manage daily and weekly work plans, meeting and exceeding productivity targets.
*
Supervise site teams and specialist subcontractors across electrical, fire alarms, security, and ICT packages.
*
Ensure readiness of site access, drawings, and materials.
*
Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of all electrical and specialist systems.
*
Support the Project Manager with programme planning and execution.
*
Report on progress, costs, and risks to project stakeholders.
*
Enforce company safety and quality procedures.
*
Work closely with Quality Control, Safety, planners, QS, and supervisors.
Skills & Requirements
*
Electrical trade background (City & Guilds, NVQ, HNC/BTEC or equivalent).
*
8+ years’ site-based Construction Management experience, ideally within data centre or mission-critical environments.
*
Strong leadership and organisational skills with the ability to delegate effectively.
*
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
*
Strong understanding of electrical systems including LV distribution, containment, fire alarms, security systems, and ICT.
*
Proficient in MS Office and planning software (e.g., MS Project).
*
SMSTS and valid CSCS/ECS card required.
Desirable:
*
Degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Construction Management.
*
Background in complex M&E projects (data centres, life sciences, healthcare).
*
Experience in cost control, contracts, and change management.
