Vertical Recruitment is working with a leading consultancy in the water sector on an exciting Senior Project Manager role. This is a rare opportunity to lead a multi-project portfolio across the North West as part of AMP8, covering 25–30 schemes valued at around £25–30m, all delivered through a single, integrated programme team.

The Role

You will take ownership of multiple projects, ensuring delivery meets time, cost, and quality targets. Working closely with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders, you will operate within a regulated, contract-driven environment. This is a hands-on leadership position, offering the chance to influence delivery strategies and shape a newly established, collaborative team.

What You’ll Be Doing

* Lead a portfolio of projects, ensuring alignment with AMP8 objectives.

* Oversee project planning, scheduling, and programme controls in partnership with the Planning Manager.

* Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting.

* Ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and quality standards.

* Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to maintain smooth project delivery.

* Apply NEC4 and other contractual frameworks to manage risk, change, and commercial performance.

* Provide governance, reporting, and assurance to senior management and clients.

* Mentor and develop project teams to enhance delivery capability.

Who We’re Looking For

* 8+ years’ experience in project management within infrastructure, utilities, or construction.

* Degree-level qualification and professional accreditation (ChPP, CEng, MICE, or equivalent).

* APM qualification (PMQ) and NEC4 accreditation.

* Proven experience managing multiple projects in a regulated sector.

* Strong financial awareness and experience managing multiple contractual arrangements.

* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

* Right to work in the UK.
