About the Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll be responsible for all commercial and financial aspects of our subcontracted works on the water treatment site. You'll work closely with the project management and site teams to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Cost Management: Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and cost reports. Track project costs against the budget and provide regular updates to senior management.

Contract Administration: Administer our subcontract, ensuring all contractual obligations are met. Prepare and submit valuations, payment applications, and variations (compensation events).

Risk Management: Identify and assess commercial risks and opportunities. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks.

Procurement: Assist in the procurement of materials and subcontractors, ensuring value for money and compliance with project specifications.

Dispute Resolution: Handle and resolve commercial disputes and claims in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements

We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in quantity surveying, ideally within the civil engineering, water, or utilities sectors.

Experience: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a track record of successfully managing projects. Experience on a water treatment or similar civils project is a big plus.

Qualifications: A degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.

Skills: Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts, excellent negotiation skills, and a solid understanding of construction processes. You should be proficient in relevant software like Microsoft Excel.

Mindset: You must be a strong communicator, able to build relationships with clients, suppliers, and our internal teams. You should be a problem-solver who can think on your feet and work autonomously.
