HSQE Manager
Workmans Recruitment is partnering with a leading waste management company seeking an ambitious and results-driven Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental (HSQE) Manager to spearhead HSQE initiatives across their demolition and enabling works operations.
This pivotal role reports directly to the HSQE Director and focuses on achieving the organization's health, safety, quality and environmental goals within the division. You'll be part of a collaborative HSQE team dedicated to fostering a positive safety culture throughout the business.
Based at their Head Office in Hampshire, you'll oversee sites and projects primarily across the south of England, with occasional UK-wide travel requirements when needed.
What you'll do:
You'll be leading HSQE support across the organisation, with primary accountability for supporting the Demolition & Contracting operations while contributing to broader company safety objectives.
This includes:
* Creating and implementing HSQE strategies, conducting site assessments and leading incident reduction programs
* Providing specialized HSQE guidance to operational teams on project-specific health, safety, quality and environmental challenges
* Ensuring operational management and site personnel comply with current health, safety and environmental regulations and company standards
* Providing technical expertise on Construction, Design and Management regulations implementation
* Evaluating project construction phase plans, risk assessments and method statements
* Monitoring site adherence to HSQE requirements and business management systems
* Coordinating audit programs including conducting inspections and observation visits
* Leading incident investigations to determine root causes and prevention recommendations
* Contributing to bid submissions, supply chain assessments and industry accreditation maintenance
What you'll need:
* Minimum NEBOSH Construction Certificate qualification (Diploma or NVQ level 6 preferred) and IOSH membership
* Relevant construction industry background with comprehensive knowledge of CDM Regulations and principal contractor experience
* Experience with management systems including ISO 45001, 14001 and 9001
* Proven incident investigation and reporting capabilities
* Outstanding communication abilities with skills to engage effectively across all organizational levels
* CSCS Card holder (CCDO advantageous)
* IT proficiency including Microsoft Office suite and internet navigation
* Demolition contracting and/or civil engineering experience preferred
* Waste management or transfer station experience advantageous
Package & Benefits:
* Salary: £50,000 – £65,000 per annum
