A client within the Public Sector based in Greater Manchester is currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Manager to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a complex, multi-site public facing environment.

The Role
The key purpose of the role is to lead the corporate Health & Safety function, ensuring compliance with legislation and the promotion of a strong safety culture across the Council.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Leading the development and implementation of corporate Health & Safety policies and procedures.
• Managing the Health & Safety service including Advisors and Occupational Health contracts.
• Overseeing accident/incident investigations including RIDDOR reporting.
• Supporting senior leaders and managers to understand and discharge their H&S responsibilities.
• Delivering training, audits and reports, and representing the Council at internal and external forums.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require NEBOSH Level 7 (or equivalent substantial H&S experience) together with significant experience in Health & Safety management within local government or a similar multi-site public service environment.

The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Strong leadership and influencing skills with experience managing professional teams.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver training and present to varied audiences.
• Experience of liaising with regulators and external stakeholders in a senior capacity.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £350 per day Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £280 per day PAYE).
