We are recruiting on behalf of a tier one social housing refurbishment contractor who are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Hatfield. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a respected contractor delivering essential refurbishment and maintenance works across void social housing properties on behalf of housing associations and local authorities.

The RoleAs an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in supporting the commercial team on refurbishment and maintenance projects. Your responsibilities will include:

Assisting with the preparation and management of project budgets, valuations, and cost reports

Supporting the measurement and valuation of works, both on-site and from drawings

Liaising with subcontractors, clients, and internal project teams

Assisting in the management of variations and ensuring accurate cost control

Ensuring compliance with company procedures and relevant contractual frameworks

About You
Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the social housing or refurbishment sector is highly desirable

Knowledge of the NHF Schedule of Rates (SOR) would be a distinct advantage

A construction-related degree or NVQ qualification is preferred, though not essential for the right candidate

Strong numerical, organisational, and communication skills
