The Role:
As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the pre-construction process, working closely with design teams, consultants, and clients. You’ll be responsible for preparing accurate cost plans and competitive tenders, providing commercial insight throughout the design phase, and ensuring bids are both profitable and innovative. This role offers the chance to work on diverse and high-profile projects while contributing directly to the company’s continued success in the sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Produce detailed cost estimates and cost plans throughout all design stages.
Work collaboratively with architects, engineers, and consultants to influence design decisions with cost-effective solutions.
Prepare and coordinate subcontractor and supplier enquiries, analysing returns to ensure best value.
Support the tender process, preparing clear, concise, and commercially competitive submissions.
Identify risk, opportunities, and value engineering solutions to strengthen bids.
Attend client meetings to provide clarity on budgets and cost advice during pre-construction.
Support the smooth handover of successful tenders to the delivery team.About You:
Previous experience as an Estimator within a main contracting environment is essential.
Strong track record working on Design & Build projects, ideally within the commercial and mixed-use sectors.
Excellent knowledge of construction methods, procurement, and market rates.
Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Conquest, Causeway, Buildsoft, or similar).
Strong numerical, analytical, and communication skills.
