I'm partnered with a leading main contractor and I'm supporting them with their search for a talented Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Newcastle. You'll be working on Northumbrian Water Group's (NWG) strategic infrastructure upgrade programme, a massive five-year investment plan to improve the local water and sewer network across the North East. The Role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor on this program, you will play a key role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of large-scale civil engineering projects. Your responsibilities will include:
Leading on cost planning and commercial strategy.
Managing cost control across the full project lifecycle.
Providing commercial support to the project team.
Ensuring robust, accurate, and timely cost and value reporting at both project and business unit levels.
Managing the procurement of subcontractors, including negotiation and financial accounting.
Advising on contractual claims and disputes.
Administering NEC contracts and other forms of contract.
Mentoring and supervising junior Quantity Surveyors.
Your Experience & Skills
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
Extensive experience in a commercial role within the civil engineering industry.
A strong working knowledge of NEC forms of contract.
Experience in commercial management and the procurement of subcontractors.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
