Quantity Surveyor
TEXO Recruitment is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our external construction client. Our client is well-regarded for their expertise in civil engineering, drilling, and utility services. You will be responsible for managing cost and value aspects of a high-value infrastructure project. This is a predominantly site-based role in the North East, with occasional travel to our Head Office in Westhill, Aberdeenshire.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
* Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor or subcontractor.
* Background in large-scale civil engineering projects.
* Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
* Experienced in subcontractor management, ensuring compliance with contract terms and timelines.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Self-motivated with a proactive attitude; capable of working independently and within a team.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Legal right to work in the UK without restrictions (sponsorship not available).
Responsibilities:
* Maintain clear, collaborative communication with key stakeholders including the Client, Project Manager, Managing QS, and engineering teams.
* Prepare monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and present findings, risks, and opportunities to Senior Management.
* Submit accurate and timely Applications for Payment in line with contract requirements.
* Oversee commercial management of subcontractors, including payment assessments, compensation events, and final account agreements.
* Attend and contribute to client meetings, maintaining a high level of professionalism.
* Provide monthly project cash flow forecasts to the Managing Quantity Surveyor.
* Identify contractual risks and opportunities, ensuring clear communication with the wider team.
* Promote and support the consistent application of the Integrated Management System across all project activities.
