Role Purpose:

To manage the commercial and financial aspects of construction contracts, ensuring that all project costs are effectively monitored and controlled from start to finish.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Produce accurate interim valuations and assist in closing final accounts.

*

Procure subcontractors in line with programme targets and internal policies, including conducting pre-award meetings and reviewing warranties and contractual documents.

*

Oversee subcontractor contract administration — covering progress tracking, variations, daywork claims, defect resolution, and notices related to delays or damages.

*

Evaluate subcontractor payment applications and ensure timely payments, including issuing formal payment notices and applying any necessary deductions.

*

Agree final accounts with subcontractors and close out commercial packages.

*

Carry out on-site and drawing-based quantity measurements to support valuations and variation assessments.

*

Monitor and evaluate changes in scope and provisional sums to ensure financial accuracy.

*

Process weekly payments for labour and plant hire.

*

Track and manage materials costs across the project lifecycle.

*

Prepare internal cost reports, forecasts, and cost/value reconciliations in line with reporting cycles.

*

Work closely with site management and delivery teams to review project progress and its impact on financial performance.

*

Maintain detailed and accurate project records and documentation.

*

Assist in identifying and notifying delays in collaboration with senior commercial staff.

*

Support estimating teams by completing take-offs and preparing bills of quantities for new tenders.

*

Undertake other tasks as reasonably required to support project success.

Qualifications and Experience:

*

Minimum HND (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline

*

Proven track record on projects relevant to the sector (CIVIL ENGINEERING)
