This client is a long-established, privately-owned main contractor delivering high-quality building projects across the North West. Operating across sectors such as education, healthcare, commercial, residential and leisure, they have built a reputation for reliability, strong client relationships, and professional delivery.

As part of our their continued growth, we are seeking a number of Estimators to join their expanding team, based in either their Preston Head Office or our new Warrington office.

The Role

Reporting into the Pre-Construction Manager, the Estimator will play a key role in the preparation of accurate cost estimates and tender submissions. This is a great opportunity for experienced Estimators with main contracting experience who want to be part of a well-respected, growing contractor with a strong order book.

Responsibilities

* Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of building projects.

* Analyse drawings, specifications and other documents to prepare detailed take-offs and pricing.

* Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations.

* Assess tender documentation, risks, and client requirements to ensure robust submissions.

* Work closely with the Pre-Construction and Delivery teams to ensure a seamless handover on successful tenders.

* Contribute to bid strategies and ensure tender deadlines are met.

* Maintain and update estimating databases, cost libraries, and supplier relationships.

Requirements

* Proven experience working as an Estimator for a main contractor (essential).

* Strong knowledge of construction methods, building contracts, and commercial processes.

* Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and contract documents.

* Proficient in using estimating software and Microsoft Office.

* Excellent communication and negotiation skills with supply chain partners.

* Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines.

* Relevant qualifications in Construction/Quantity Surveying (HNC/HND/Degree) preferred.
