Sheduler (or Lead Sheduler)
Job Description: Schedule Lead / Scheduler – Open to both contractor or perm applications.
Our client is seeking an experienced Schedule Lead / Scheduler to join their Infrastructure Delivery team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proven scheduling professional to lead, influence, and help shape the planning and delivery of complex, large-scale projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, support and mentor a team of schedulers, embedding best practice and driving consistency in programme controls.
Develop individual project Gantt charts and detailed schedules from first principles in Primavera P6, ensuring accurate identification of tasks, activities, dependencies and milestones.
Build, maintain and update the Master Programme Schedule, consolidating inputs from multiple projects to provide a clear and reliable programme-wide view.
Co-ordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors and wider stakeholders to establish realistic durations, identify the critical path, and ensure dependencies are accurately reflected.
Facilitate schedule workshops and cross-project meetings, engaging design consultants, contractors and project teams to align expectations, optimise sequencing and improve predictability.
Review, analyse and validate contractor schedules during live projects and tender evaluations, ensuring risks, delays and scope changes are highlighted and proactively managed.
Apply leads, lags, float and contingency allowances appropriately, supporting robust programme planning and early risk identification.
Work alongside cost and risk teams to produce integrated cost- and resource-loaded schedules that enable accurate forecasting and cash flow projections.
Monitor and report on progress through Earned Value Analysis and other performance measures, producing regular updates and ad-hoc reports for project leadership.
Support pre-construction planning, budget generation and operational readiness by providing schedule insights across the full project lifecycle.
Identify and propose corrective actions when deviations from baseline schedules occur, driving transparency and accountability.
Contribute to the development of sustainable scheduling processes, influencing contractors and stakeholders while building a culture of proactive schedule management.
Candidate Profile
Degree in Construction Management or a related technical discipline.
10+ years' experience in complex, multi-disciplinary project scheduling.
Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring teams.
Proven ability to develop and manage critical path schedules from first principles.
Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6.
Experience in large capital programmes, pre-construction planning, and contract schedule review.
Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
Highly organised, detail-oriented and motivated, with the ability to prioritise and deliver under pressure.
