Thomas Search are working on behalf of an independent consultancy to appoint an experienced Senior, up to Associate Electrical Building Services Engineer into their growing and successful engineering teams.
You will join a friendly, collaborative, and growing team within a leading multi-disciplinary property consultancy, this role offers exposure to high-profile clients and exciting projects across commercial, retail, industrial, and large-scale residential developments.
 
The Role
 
We're seeking an Electrical Design Engineer of various seniority, with proven building services experience to help deliver innovative solutions across the UK. Working closely with the London or Birmingham regional lead/director, supporting the technical delivery of electrical systems design and deliver packages of electrical design work.
 
What You'll Do

Low voltage distribution & small power
Lighting, emergency lighting & control systems
Fire detection, alarms & security systems
Containment & extra-low voltage systems (CCTV, access control, etc.)
Produce technical specifications, drawings, reports, and engaging presentations
Conduct site inspections, surveys, and attend client/contractor meetings
Collaborate with energy & carbon specialists to support EPC, MEES, and NZC strategies
Contribute to best practice development, templates, and workflows within the E&S hub
Support junior engineers and sustainability colleagues through knowledge sharing & CPD
Deliver individual financial performance and manage your own project pipeline  What We're Looking For

Degree-qualified in Engineering (BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng), with 3+ – 5+ years' industry experience, DOR.
Background in consultancy or contractor design within building services
Ideally MCIBSE (or working towards, with full support provided)
Hands-on project delivery in the built environment
Strong knowledge of BS 7671, Building Regulations & EPC requirements
Proficiency in AutoCAD & Microsoft Office (Revit, Amtech/Trimble, Dialux, Relux advantageous)
