About the Role

We are looking for a Project Supervisor (Mechanical) to join the Property, Design and Maintenance team on a temporary basis. This role plays a vital part in managing building and maintenance projects across the corporate estate.

You'll act as the go-to technical expert for Mechanical Building Services Engineering, ensuring compliance, quality, and efficiency across all assigned works.

This role is ideal for someone with strong knowledge of mechanical systems in public/commercial buildings and experience managing or overseeing contractors, consultants, and compliance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Manage mechanical building services projects across the corporate estate

Provide specialist technical advice in areas such as:

Heating and hot water generation

Cold/hot water services

Air conditioning systems

Commercial kitchens

Water hygiene and legionella control

Prepare reports, estimates, specifications, and schedules for projects

Ensure all works meet legal, safety, and quality standards

Support lift inspections and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and codes of practice

Act as a key advisor to the Corporate Landlord, ensuring assets are managed to ISO 55000 standards

Reporting Structure

You will report directly to the Building Surveying/Engineering Manager, and may supervise agency staff, consultants, or contractors on a project-by-project basis.

Requirements

Strong experience in mechanical building services

Knowledge of water hygiene, legionella legislation, and health & safety standards

Ability to manage technical projects and coordinate external contractors

Excellent communication and reporting skills

Relevant mechanical/building services qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
