Rail Telecoms Design CRE

Are you an experienced Telecoms Contractor's Responsible Engineer (CRE) with a strong background in rail-based operational communications (Opscoms)?
 
Are you looking to work on major HS2 stations and Network Rail frameworks?
 
Rate: £500 – £560 day inside IR35
Contract length: Long term
Location: London or Swindon couple of day a week – rest from home
 
This is a design-led position where your technical expertise will be crucial in delivering complex telecoms solutions for major rail projects.
 
Role and Responsibilities
This is your chance to join a leading force in rail infrastructure, contributing to some of the UK's most significant and high-profile projects. You will be working at the forefront of developing the nation's railway, shaping critical communications systems for a new era of transport.
 
As the new Telecoms CRE, you will take on a pivotal, hybrid role with a dual focus. Your primary responsibility will be overseeing the detailed telecoms design for the landmark HS2 Old Oak Common station project, focusing on FDNX alterations. In addition, you will provide expert support to a major signalling framework across the Wales and Western region. Your day-to-day activities will involve leading on detailed design, managing cable design, and interfacing directly with construction teams to ensure seamless project delivery.

What you'll need
  Proven experience as a Telecoms CRE in a UK rail environment.
  In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Operational Communications (Opscoms).
  Demonstrable experience in detailed design for rail telecoms projects.
  Experience with FDNX, SBT, and concentrator alterations.
  Based in the Midlands or South of England to accommodate occasional site visits.
