Head of Compliance & Building Safety
About the Role
We are recruiting for a highly skilled and dedicated Head of Compliance and Building Safety to lead and oversee all aspects of building safety and regulatory compliance within our organisation. This strategic role is crucial to ensuring the safety, integrity, and legal compliance of our housing portfolio, aligning with current legislation and best practice frameworks.
Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance and building safety strategies in line with statutory requirements and industry standards.

Lead the organisation’s compliance with all relevant building safety legislation, regulations, and codes of practice.
*
Oversee risk management processes related to building safety, including fire safety, structural integrity, and health and safety standards.
*
Collaborate with internal teams, external contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure all buildings meet safety and compliance standards.
*
Develop and drive a culture of safety and compliance across the organisation, providing training and guidance where necessary.
*
Manage and monitor audits, inspections, and reporting to ensure continual compliance and improvement.
*
Lead, develop, and support a team of compliance and building safety professionals, ensuring high performance and professional development.
*
Keep abreast of legislative changes and best practices, advising senior leadership on emerging risks and compliance requirements.
About You
*
Extensive experience in a senior compliance or building safety role, preferably within housing, construction, or property management sectors.
*
Strong knowledge of building regulations, fire safety legislation, health and safety standards, and compliance frameworks.
*
Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and lead teams effectively.
*
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, able to influence and build strong relationships internally and externally.
*
Analytical and detail-oriented, with a commitment to continuous improvement and risk mitigation.
*
Professional qualifications in building safety, health and safety, or related fields are highly desirable.
