Property Business Support and Programme Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Property Business Support and Programme Manager to join our client South Gloucestershire Council for a 1 year FTC.

Position Details:
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract
Contract Length: 12 months
Annual Salary: £55,534 – £60,390
Working Pattern: Full Time
Location: Yate (just an 11-minute walk from the train station!)

What You'll Be Doing:
As the Property Business Support and Programme Manager, you will

Lead a talented team of 20, including direct line management of 5 full-time staff.
Oversee resource management, staff development, and recruitment for the Business Support team.
Drive continuous improvement in project management, ensuring robust processes for property finance and technical support.
Manage a business support budget of approximately £1 million and oversee projects exceeding £500,000 in value.
Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of property performance metrics (KPIs and SLAs) and maintain the divisional risk register.
Provide daily support, training, and guidance to your colleagues, fostering a culture of excellence and strong governance.
Navigate complex project-related issues with multiple partners, ensuring smooth negotiations and adherence to policies.What We Need From You:
To thrive in this role, you should have:

A degree in business programme management, property-related subject, or equivalent experience in resource and capacity management.
Desirable: APM's 'Project Management' (APMP, Level D) qualification or equivalent.
Strong financial and commercial acumen with experience managing budgets and delivering cost savings.
Proven experience in managing a multi-disciplinary team, focusing on performance and clear objective-setting.
Ability to present to senior leadership teams and influence stakeholders effectively.
A successful track record in planning, managing, and delivering complex strategic programmes and projects.
Knowledge of property data systems, Power BI, and reporting tools.Why Join Us?
