We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the Commercial team of a leading UK housebuilder, covering the East Midlands region. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone early in their commercial career who is looking to develop within a supportive and structured environment.

The Role

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'll work closely with experienced Quantity Surveyors and Senior Surveyors, supporting the commercial and cost management of live housing developments. This is a varied position where you'll gain exposure to procurement, subcontractor management, cost control, reporting and day-to-day commercial administration.

You will be involved in tasks such as:

Assisting with the preparation of accurate costings for each stage of site development.

Supporting the procurement process, including preparing tender documents and engaging with subcontractors.

Helping to monitor and maintain cost control and cash flow across multiple projects.

Processing subcontractor payments, variations and orders using company systems (Excel & COINS).

Assisting with the preparation of regular commercial reports for internal stakeholders.

Supporting the management of subcontractor compliance and adherence to company policies.

Providing general commercial administration, including filing, reporting, emails and document control.

Attending team meetings and contributing to a collaborative, solutions-focused environment.

This is a role for someone with strong attention to detail, an eagerness to learn, and the ambition to progress within a commercial function.
