A client within the Public Sector based in Greater Manchester is currently recruiting for a Principal Surveyor to join their Estates & Assets Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within an estates management environment.

The Role
Key purpose of the role is to provide a strong and professional lead for the management and delivery of the Estates Team’s operational services, supporting and deputising for the Head of Estates as required, whilst undertaking a varied professional caseload.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Carrying out property valuations including rental, capital, statutory, asset and disposals.
• Managing landlord & tenant matters such as lease renewals, rent reviews, rent negotiations and service charges.
• Handling property acquisitions and disposals including compulsory purchase.
• Supporting the Council’s asset valuation programme and regeneration schemes.
• Deputising for the Head of Estates and supervising Estates Surveyors, Business Centres’ Manager and support staff.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
• MRICS or FRICS qualification.
• Proven experience in estates management, including valuations, landlord & tenant, disposals, acquisitions and property review.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Experience in regeneration and redevelopment schemes.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to prepare reports and present professional issues.
• Experience of leading and mentoring professional staff within a team environment.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering up to £45 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £34–£36 PAYE).
