Job Title: Managing Quantity Surveyor (Construction)
Location: Cambridge
Salary: £95,000 + Package

The Role

-Manage and control the commercial aspects of projects across healthcare, education, and commercial sectors.

-Provide accurate financial reporting on individual projects

-Collate, review and report financially on other projects within remit

-Place subcontracts in line with main contract and company policies

-Advise project surveyors on opportunities to maximise value and minimise costs

-Monitor subcontractors against programme and provide support on problem areas

-Ensure consistent and accurate forecasting

-Implement and oversee commercial systems and procedures

-Contribute to risk management and advise on effective mitigation strategies

-Promote effective communication and team collaboration

-Manage performance of direct reports, setting objectives and supporting development

-Input into site activities where appropriate

The Ideal Candidate

-BSc or HND in Quantity Surveying or related subject

-Significant commercial experience with a contracting organisation

-Strong knowledge of subcontract procurement and monthly measurement cycles

-Understanding of suppliers’ businesses and local market knowledge

-Strong organisational, planning and time management skills

-Sound knowledge of the construction industry, standards and specifications

-Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills
