3.5T Driver

Our client is looking for a reliable and customer-focused 3.5t Driver to join their busy builders’ merchant. You will be responsible for delivering building and roofing materials to trade and retail customers safely, efficiently and with excellent service. This role involves more than just driving – you’ll also support the branch team with loading, stock handling and ensuring customers receive a first-class experience.
  
Key Responsibilities
  
Driving & Delivery

Carry out multi-drop deliveries of building materials to trade and domestic customers using a 3.5 tonne vehicle.
Ensure all loads are safely secured and delivered on time.
Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly.
Maintain high standards of driving in line with UK road safety regulations.   
Customer Service

Provide excellent service at every delivery, representing the business professionally.
Assist customers with off-loading materials when required.
Handle customer queries politely and communicate any issues back to the branch.   
Branch & Operational Support

Assist with picking, loading and stock control in the yard and warehouse.
Ensure health & safety procedures are followed at all times.
Support colleagues to keep the branch, yard and vehicles clean and organised.   
Skills & Experience Required

Full UK driving licence (category B, up to 3.5t).
Previous experience in multi-drop delivery (builders’ merchant, construction, or trade experience preferred but not essential).
Good knowledge of local routes and road safety.
Physically fit and able to handle heavy materials.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Reliable, punctual and a team player.
