Senior Building Surveyor
We are working with a growing Multi-Disciplinary Design & Surveying Consultancy based near Ely, seeking to appoint a Senior Building Surveyor to support continued expansion across commercial, industrial, and specialist sectors.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced or chartered Building Surveyor to lead on a diverse portfolio of projects. You’ll collaborate closely with clients, working across all stages of design, delivery, and compliance to ensure high-quality project outcomes.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
* Conduct detailed building surveys, identify defects, and provide remedial advice with cost implications
* Lead design and specification work for refurbishments, new builds, and remedial schemes
* Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring delivery on time and within budget
* Advise clients on legislation, building regulations, health & safety and compliance matters
* Maintain strong client relationships and act as a trusted advisor throughout project lifecycle
* Support business development activities, contributing to bids and building a professional network
Skills & Experience Required:
* Proven experience as a Building Surveyor
* Strong technical background with hands-on project delivery experience
* Chartered or working towards MRICS / MCIOB (preferred but not essential)
* Confident leading client meetings, managing expectations, and delivering strategic advice
* Knowledge of building regulations, construction standards, and relevant legislation
* Competent using surveying and design software, with excellent reporting and documentation skills
* Self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently or lead a small team
* Full UK driving licence – willingness to travel locally for projects
Summary
Position: Senior Building Surveyor
Location: Littleport (near Ely)
Duration: Permanent
Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 + Car Allowance + Benefits
Start: Notice Dependent
