We are seeking to appoint a Senior Faculty Estates Officer to join our busy and productive team. The Faculty Estates teams play a pivotal role within the University acting as the key interface between the academic Faculties and Professional Services teams who occupy the buildings and the Estates and Facilities Directorate who manage and maintain them.
In addition to providing strategic guidance on property and buildings matters and operational support for the academic Schools and Research Institutes, the role of the team is to ensure that campus, buildings and facilities are managed in line with the expectations of the end user clients, and the University’s Strategic Plan.
As a Senior Faculty Estates Officer, you will represent the Estates and Facilities Directorate across the University providing advice on strategic and operational property and facilities matters. You will be a team player who has the ability to communicate using a variety of methods and possess strong interpersonal skills required to ensure you can contribute to the smooth running of the campus operation.
We are looking for a candidate that can:
- Work to specified deadlines with associated document management and reporting capabilities.
- Effectively lead and manage individuals within a Team, setting and achieving clear objectives and performance goals and conducting individual meetings and reviews.
- Demonstrate knowledge of budgetary responsibilities together with a proven track record of delivering projects and services to time, quality and budget.
- Manage communication between Project Team members and other stakeholders.
- Establish, build and maintain positive relationships across all partners and stakeholders.
As an ideal candidate you will have:
- An appropriate construction related degree or professional qualification, ideally to a chartered level.
- A proven track record of providing construction and project management advice in a customer focused environment.
- High levels of IT literacy including contemporary office applications (365 etc.).
- Experience of and ability to produce high quality professional written reports and correspondence, and in delivering clear written, visual and verbal reports or presentations.
- The capacity to think in strategic terms and can exercise leadership in organisational change.
- Strong negotiation and relationship building skills with the ability to influence others outside of your direct control.
