Salary: Up to £50,000 (DOE) + performance incentives + annual reviews linked to growth
Hours: Minimum 40 per week (with out-of-hours availability required)

The Company

Founded in 2019, this business operates across three subsidiaries specialising in Glass & Glazing, Developments, and Exclusive Doors.

With an annualised turnover of £2.2m and a target of £3m+ in the next 12 months (2025/26), the company is expanding rapidly while aiming for gross profit margins of 30%+.

The business employs 27 staff and is also moving into in-house property development and rental alongside its glazing and doors operations.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to join a growing company and play a pivotal role in its long-term success.

The Role

We are looking for a hands-on, commercially minded Operations Manager with a background in the building trade and proven leadership experience.

You will manage the day-to-day running of 20+ staff across glazing, developments, and doors, ensuring projects are resourced, scheduled, and delivered efficiently – on time, within budget, and to specification.

This role will suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is confident with IT and systems, and is motivated to be directly involved in business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Lead daily operations of 2-3 Glass & Glazing fitting teams and 4 Development teams, plus door projects.

Manage and support internal QS and Architectural Technician resources.

Deploy resources effectively, achieving 95%+ staff engagement in revenue-generating work.

Develop and implement operational KPIs to track delivery and financial performance.

Oversee contracts, ensuring delivery to budget and timescale.

Capture and agree all contract variations with clients, ensuring correct billing.

Enforce Health & Safety compliance and ensure RAMS are completed before works begin.

Monitor time management and productivity across all teams.

Work with Finance, Administration, and Sales to align operations with company goals.

Maintain vans, tools, and equipment.

Provide weekly updates to the Managing Director on progress and risks.

Build a strong customer service culture across operations.

Identify and implement efficiency improvements.

Candidate Profile

Essential:

10+ years' experience in the building trade with proven operations management background.

Strong IT and systems knowledge (Excel, Word, project management tools).

Advanced computer literacy with operational systems.

Experience managing multiple teams in a fast-paced environment.

Commercially aware, with a track record of on-time, on-budget delivery.

Strong organisational and scheduling ability.

Excellent communicator and leader, with coaching and development skills.

Based within or around the Merseyside area.

Desirable:

Background in glazing, windows, or doors.

Experience in a growth-focused business.

Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships.

The Package

Office-based (South Liverpool).

Salary up to £50,000 (DOE).

Annual reviews linked to company growth.

Performance incentives.

40+ hours per week minimum, with some out-of-hours availability.

Must be available on Saturdays if teams are working, either on-call or on-site.

Work directly with the Managing Director and leadership team on shaping the company's future.
