Location: Birmingham
Contract: Inside IR35
Rate: £55–£65 per hour (negotiable, dependent on experience)
Hours: 8 hours per day, 5 days per week (opportunity of overtime to be discussed)

Morson Talent are recruiting for an experienced NEC Site Supervisor to join a leading civil engineering project in Birmingham.

Role Overview

As the NEC Supervisor, you will support the NEC Project Manager and play a vital role in monitoring, inspecting, and ensuring quality standards on site. You’ll provide independent scrutiny of works, ensuring compliance with the Works Information, NEC Contract requirements, and applicable legislation.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain a regular on-site presence, checking that the correct materials and standards are consistently applied.
Identify and mitigate potential issues before they arise.
Manage and record any defects, issuing relevant communications as per contract requirements.
Attend and contribute to progress meetings.
Prepare and submit reports (weekly/fortnightly/monthly), including sequence of works and supporting photographic evidence.
Exercise authority to instruct defect searches and issue the Defects Certificate at the end of the Defects Correction Period.

About You

We’re seeking candidates with:

 Extensive experience in civil engineering, ideally as an Inspector, Clerk of Works, NEC Supervisor or Design Site Representative.

Strong track record supervising multi-disciplined projects in highways, transportation, and civil engineering.
Solid understanding of NEC contracts, Specification for Highway Works (SHW), and material testing.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster collaborative working relationships with contractors, consultants, and local authorities.
