Earthworks / Highways Site Engineer – £300–£400/day – 12-Month Contract – Coventry

We are currently seeking an experienced Site Engineer with a strong background in earthworks and highways to join a major infrastructure project based in Coventry. This is a 12-month contract offering consistent work and a competitive day rate of £300–£400/day (CIS or Ltd).

You'll be working with a top-tier civil engineering contractor on a fast-paced, large-scale roadworks scheme.

Key Responsibilities:

Setting out for bulk earthworks, highways, drainage, and associated infrastructure

*

Working from drawings and ensuring all works are completed to specification

*

Supervising subcontractors and managing engineering elements on site

*

Completing as-builts, QA documentation, site diaries, and progress reports

*

Ensuring health & safety standards are met and promoting a safe working environment

*

Liaising with site management, design teams, and client representatives

Requirements:

*

Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Site Engineer on earthworks or highways projects

*

Strong setting out experience using GPS and Total Station (e.g. Trimble, Leica)

*

Confident reading technical drawings and managing on-site engineering tasks

*

Proficient with AutoCAD and familiar with QA procedures

*

CSCS card required

*

SMSTS/SSSTS and First Aid (preferred but not essential)

*

Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering (HNC, HND, or Degree)
