We’re recruiting on behalf of a respected civil engineering contractor with an active site in Maidstone, who are seeking a confident and professional Public Liaison Officer to support ongoing community engagement for a key infrastructure project.
The Role:
As the Public Liaison Officer, you’ll act as the main point of contact between the project team and the local community. You'll be responsible for ensuring effective communication with residents, businesses, and other stakeholders, helping to foster positive relationships and minimise disruption during the works.
Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the face of the project to local residents and businesses
*
Respond to public enquiries in a timely, professional manner
*
Coordinate and attend community meetings, drop-in sessions, and site visits
*
Prepare clear, concise updates, newsletters, and other comms materials
*
Monitor public feedback and concerns, escalating where appropriate
*
Liaise closely with the site team and communications department
What We’re Looking For:

Previous experience in a public liaison, community engagement, or stakeholder management role
*
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
*
Strong organisational abilities and confidence working independently
*
Understanding of construction or civil engineering projects is beneficial
*
Must be comfortable being site-based in Maidstone 2–3 days a week
