About Us

We are one of the largest construction groups in the North East, employing over 220 people across offices and on site.

Operating as a multi-discipline group, we provide expertise in construction, civils, heritage restoration, building services, fire engineering, fabrication, facilities management, and plant & transport.

Now proudly employee-owned, every member of our team has a stake in the company's success. We deliver projects that shape communities – from the restoration of Grade I listed landmarks such as Auckland Castle, to the transformation of complex city centre sites like the Bruce Building.

With a strong pipeline of projects across commercial, residential, heritage and public sectors, we're looking to strengthen our team with an experienced Planner.

The Role

As a Planner, you will play a key role in developing, managing and monitoring project programmes across multiple schemes. You'll work closely with Project Managers, Site Teams, and Commercial colleagues to ensure projects are delivered on time, safely, and to budget.

Your responsibilities will include:

Preparing and managing tender and construction programmes (using ASTA Powerproject or similar).

Working with Estimating and Pre-Construction teams to support bids and secure work.

Monitoring progress, identifying risks and opportunities, and advising project teams.

Producing reports, dashboards and programme updates for clients and internal stakeholders.

Supporting live projects across sectors, including heritage, education, healthcare, and commercial developments.

About You

We're looking for someone with:

Proven experience as a Planner within the UK construction industry (main contractor background preferred).

Strong technical knowledge of construction sequencing, methods, and temporary works.

Proficiency in ASTA Powerproject (or Primavera P6/MS Project if transferable).

Excellent communication skills and the ability to challenge and influence project teams.

A collaborative mindset – aligned with our employee-ownership culture.

Heritage/complex refurbishment experience would be a bonus, but is not essential.

What We Offer

Competitive salary + company benefits.

Employee ownership – giving you a genuine stake in the business.

The chance to work on high-profile, complex and heritage projects across the North East.

Ongoing professional development and progression opportunities.

A supportive, people-focused culture where your contribution matters.

If you're an experienced Planner looking to join a forward-thinking, employee-owned contractor with a strong pipeline of work and a reputation for delivering challenging projects, we'd love to hear from you.
