Exciting Opportunity for a Permanent Quantity Surveyor in York

Our client, a reputable organisation in the construction industry, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team in York, Yorkshire and the Humber. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a dynamic company specialising in residential, restoration and refurbishment projects.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for residential construction projects.

Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction lifecycle.

Carry out tender processes, including analysing tenders and selecting suitable contractors.

Conduct risk assessments and value engineering to optimise project costs.

Negotiate contracts and manage contractual changes with clients and suppliers.

Collaborate with project teams to ensure projects are delivered within agreed financial parameters.

Prepare and present financial reports and progress updates to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within the residential construction sector.

Relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.

Strong understanding of construction processes and contractual procedures.

Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Proficiency in industry-standard software such as CostX, Bluebeam, or equivalent.

Valid UK driving licence preferred.
