Senior Estimator – Infrastructure (Solihull)
Location: Solihull, West Midlands
Role Overview:
The Senior Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive cost estimates and tender submissions for infrastructure projects. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams and the supply chain to ensure that bids align with client needs, support business growth, and maintain profitability.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop detailed cost estimates from first principles for infrastructure projects.

Create and implement tender strategies that offer competitive and sustainable pricing.
*
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to support effective procurement.
*
Assess risks and identify opportunities for cost savings, including compiling risk registers.
*
Support post-tender activities such as interviews, negotiations, and handovers to delivery teams.
*
Propose innovative solutions to differentiate bids and increase competitiveness.
*
Prepare site preliminary estimates and ensure all tenders comply with corporate standards.
*
Collect and analyse feedback from completed projects to improve future estimating practices.
Key Skills & Experience:

Strong experience in estimating for infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
*
Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with estimating tools (e.g., Candy).
*
Good understanding of NEC contracts and commercial practices.
*
Effective communicator with strong negotiation, influencing, and collaboration skills.
*
Organised and analytical, with excellent time management and decision-making abilities.
*
Professional qualifications (e.g., degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field) are advantageous.
