Building Safety Consultant
Remote
Salary up to £80,000
I’m working with a specialist consultancy that’s growing its team and looking for an experienced Building Safety Consultant. This is a fantastic chance to play a key role in guiding clients through the new Building Safety Act 2022 and wider building regulations, helping deliver safer, better-quality projects across the UK.
What sets this consultancy apart is their unique blend of people:
* Senior professionals who are still actively leading in local authority building control.
* Project leaders with first-hand experience delivering some of London’s most high-profile developments.
They see the Building Safety Act not just as a regulatory hurdle, but as a vital turning point for the industry. Their mission is to use this framework to embed safety into the heart of construction while also driving broader improvements — from better information management and digitalisation to raising the overall quality of the built environment.
If you’re looking to join a team that combines deep technical knowledge with a forward-thinking, solutions-led approach, this could be a brilliant fit.
What you’ll do
* Advise clients on building safety legislation (Building Safety Act, Building Regulations, Fire Safety Act, CDM Regulations).
* Carry out compliance reviews on higher-risk buildings (HRBs) and other complex projects.
* Assess design and construction risks (fire safety, structural, etc.) and provide clear, practical advice.
* Review building plans, prepare reports, and guide clients on achieving compliance.
* Undertake site inspections where required, checking standards are met.
* Work closely with developers, designers, and contractors to support safe outcomes.
What they’re looking for
* Degree in Building Surveying, Building Control, or a related discipline.
* Professional membership (CABE, RICS, or equivalent).
* At least 5 years’ experience in building control or safety compliance.
* Class 2D – Class 3H Registered Building Inspector, or working towards registration (support available).
* Strong knowledge of building safety legislation, regulations, and compliance frameworks.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Organised, proactive, and able to work independently in a remote setup
Why this role?
* Fully remote – flexibility to work from anywhere in the UK.
* Opportunity to shape how the industry adapts to the biggest regulatory shift in decades.
* Join a team of highly experienced professionals making a real difference.
* Competitive package with career growth opportunities
