What You'll Do:
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in delivering professional quantity surveying services to the Repairs and Maintenance team.

Your responsibilities will include:

Assisting in commercial management and cost control of external contractors.
Conducting accurate measurements and valuations of works
Analysing costs and providing detailed recommendations for effective budget management.
Supporting the auditing of contractor financial claims and ensuring compliance with contract conditions.
Contributing to the development and management of budgets across various projects.
Collaborating closely with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery.Key Accountabilities:

Provide high-quality, commercially focused quantity surveying functions.
Assist with claims management and contractor audits.
Attend contractor liaison meetings and represent the council in various forums.
Keep up to date with relevant statutory and council procurement rules.What We're Looking For:
To be successful in this role, you should have:

A HNC/D in Quantity Surveying or a similar qualification.
Demonstrable experience in a similar role or sector.
Strong knowledge of building regulations, work valuation methods, and procurement options.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
Strong communication skills to effectively present data and ideas.
