Senior Quantity Surveyor – Build
Highly regarded Tier 1 Major Contractor urgently seek a Senior / Quantity Surveyor for a major Construction project in Berkshire..
The company are one of the UKs most prolific contractors who are well respected and successfully bid and win on some of the most prestigious projects throughout the UK. The project is a c£350m newbuild of multi discipline packages where works consist of: Steel / RC Structures, industrial and traditional build projects. This role will be to commercially manage large packages of the works, valued c£50m, the project has at least another 5 years to run.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
* Analytical Thinking & Decision Making
* Orders information and systematically checks data
* Cost Engineering
* Prepares Activity Schedules, Resource Schedules & analyses tender documents
* Estimating
* Critically appraises, estimates and negotiates the above with 3rd parties
* Planning
* Reviews complex contract programmes such as Time-Location,
* Assists with the preparation of delay and disruption programmes
* Project Management
* Monitors subcontract activities, measure and respond appropriately
* Analyses the commercial progress and report to senior project staff
* Procurement
* Undertakes constructability analyses using construction programmes
* Prepares procurement programme and helps develop the strategy
* Commercial Management
* Analyses rates & prices, agreement of variations and or compensation events as required
* Prepares, submits and negotiates claims when required
* Prepares Internal reports, commercial progress and financial reconciliation
* Development, Recruitment and Retention
* Maintains own Personal Development Plan
* Actively supports the development of others
* Produces plans for team to achieve goals / aspirations
* Supports recruitment of lower grades
The ideal candidate will be degree qualified and a member of RICS, ICES or CIOB or be working towards it.
