The Chartered Building Surveyor's Role

The successful Surveyor will manage multiple building surveying instructions across a diverse portfolio of high-profile clients. You will provide advice and support on a wide range of services, including schedules of dilapidations, pre-acquisition surveys, due diligence, development monitoring, defect diagnosis, fire safety advice, and schedules of condition. Acting as a designer, contract administrator, project manager, or a hybrid of these, you will play a central role in delivering projects from inception to completion while maintaining close client relationships.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage projects from inception to completion

Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, tenants, and colleagues

Advise landlords and tenants on ESG initiatives, supporting sustainable and environmentally responsible methods

Mentor and support junior team members, including apprentices and graduates

Develop a strategic view on property asset lifecycles and align delivery with client objectives

Contribute to business growth by identifying opportunities and assisting in client development

Provide expert advice across all aspects of commercial property surveying

The Successful Chartered Building Surveyor Will Have

Qualifications:

MRICS qualified in Building Surveying

Knowledge & Attributes:

Commercial property experience in a consultancy environment preferred

Proactive, practical, and professional approach to work

Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trusted client relationships

Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results within deadlines

Strong technical knowledge across project management, contract administration, and surveying
