Site Manager

Site Manager required to join a reputable main contractor and oversee the delivery of the civils and groundworks package for a 5 week duration. The role will focus on groundworks, pile mats, and overseeing setting out engineers. Someone with an Engineering background is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee all civils and groundworks on a new project breaking ground this month
* Carry out spot checks to verify gridlines, datums, and ensure quality of setting out.
* Oversee the use of surveying instruments (e.g., EDM, rotating laser level) – experience preferred but not essential.
* Confidently interpret design drawings, specifications, and construction details.
* Manage QA processes using Procore and site-based Android/tablet software.
* Attend and contribute to weekly progress meetings and daily coordination briefings with site teams and subcontractors.
* Monitor programme progress, identify delays, and report issues proactively.
* Promote high standards of health and safety, including site housekeeping, work permits, and compliance with HSE regulations.
The ideal candidate will have:
* A background in Engineering and proven experience managing civils and groundworks on a construction site.
* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and project management software.
* SMSTS and CSCS are essential. First Aid, Temporary Works Coordinator/ Supervisor certificates are advantageous.
* Strong communication and coordination skills across multiple teams and stakeholders.
