Position:  Assistant Site Manager

Location:  Dartford, Kent

Sector:  Main Contractor (commercial building / refurbishment)

Start date:  October 2025

Duration:  60 weeks (temp to perm available)

The project:

A £10 million commercial construction project which incorporates new build and refurbishment elements, the scheme is currently 7 weeks into a 60 week programme.

The role:

You will be working under an experienced Project Manager and Site Manager and be responsible for:

Managing site safety which will include running inductions, checking accreditations and reviewing Risk Assessments & Method Statements along with carrying out safety checks on site.

Liaising with representatives of the clients and statutory bodies where applicable.

Running coordination briefings with contractors on site.

Monitoring subcontractor works to ensure key milestones in the programme are hit and it delivered to specification.

Report writing ready for weekly progress meetings so programmes can be updated.

About you:

A valid UK drivers licence and your own transport due to project locations.

You will need a track record of working on refurbishment projects that incorporate structural alterations with elements of new build with a Principal / Main Contractor.

All site based qualifications in date i.e. CSCS Card, First Aid, SMSTS, Asbestos Awareness

Be flexible on work location if seeking a permanent role with his contractor due to where their clients operate (lodge away / travel up to 90 minutes from the M25).
