The company:
One of Kent's leading main contractors delivering new build and refurbishment construction projects valued between £2.5 – £16 million across the county.
The role:
Due to ongoing successful awards and a strong flow tenders, this is a new position joining an established design team. As a Design Manager you will be based in the Kent office supporting them in tendering and delivering a variety or Design & Build along with Traditional contracts which feature large contractors designer portions.. Your day to day role will include:
Analyse enquiry documents
Management and delivery of design information and design process during pre-construction and throughout the construction phase.
Production of design programmes, design scopes, design responsibility matrices, appointments and schedules.
Management and coordination of external consultants.
Drive innovation and Value Engineering to maximise value to clients and ensuring profit targets are achieved.
Progress and monitor design issues to ensure contractors & consultants achieve information delivery dates.
Attend tender reviews, pre-start meetings and ongoing project performance reviews.
About you:
This role is for you if you have:
A proven track record of delivering new build and refurbishment schemes for a Principal/Main Contractor.
Ability to plan, organise, programme and manage workloads.
Have experience of site/contract procedures.
Understanding of Building Regulations and Planning Permission procedures.
Commercial aware.
Understanding of client procurement routes
This contractor values people with transferable skills so if you have a background in site operations prior to moving into design it would be an advantage but isn't essential.
