Salary: £80,000 – £100,000 per annum, plus Bonuses
My client is a rapidly growing technology/SaaS organisation offering a unique portfolio of services to the construction sector across the UK and internationally.
There is a clear roadmap for future business transformation, which would lead to a trebling their size over the next 2-3 years as the products and services are commercialised at pace.
The Industry Engagement Director, a crucial appointment in realising their continued growth ambition, is an exciting opportunity that combines thought leadership, relationship-building, and pre-sales consultancy to strengthen their network of partners, ambassadors, and contributors. These relationships keep our client on the front and centre of the industry network, leading to referral opportunities via a partner/ambassador network and ensuring the product remains industry-relevant and ahead of competition. It also supports the sales team in devising compelling solutions for their largest clients.
The Role:
The Industry Engagement Director will act as the company’s trusted subject matter expert (SME) in contract management. You will use your deep industry knowledge to:
* Engage with industry peers to build advocacy for their platform.
* Contribute expert insights to our learning management system (LMS) to educate and empower customers.
* Support Sales and Partnership teams in pre-sales engineering conversations with senior decision makers.
* This is both an outward-facing networking role and an internal knowledge resource, influencing our go-to-market strategy and content development.
Key Responsibilities:
Industry Engagement & Advocacy
* Represent the company at industry events, webinars, and user group meetings.
* Identify and actively engage with industry professionals and institutions, in the UK and overseas, fostering partnerships, ambassador relationships, and contributor collaborations that drive mutual success and strengthen industry presence and influence.
* Act as a brand ambassador, raising awareness of the platform and its contract specific capabilities.
* Partner closely with key customer groups to ensure strong product-customer fit and maintain an industry-leading, relevant offering across the full customer base.
Pre-Sales Support
* Pre-sales support on the largest, most complex deals, helping devise a compelling solution that demonstrates a deep understanding of industry challenges
* Advise prospects on best practices for contract management using the clients software.
* Translate customer pain points into product positioning opportunities.
Content & Knowledge Sharing
* Ensure their platform, knowledge base, and customer training materials are industry relevant, accurate, quality and engaging.
* Produce thought leadership articles, webinars and case studies.
* Collaborate with product and marketing teams to ensure industry relevance in messaging.
Internal Enablement
* Line management of Content and Community team.
* Provide training to internal teams on contract principles, compliance, and processes.
* Keep up-to-date and feedback industry trends and client insights to inform product roadmap decisions.
The Person:
* Several years’ experience in a relevant role of one or more of our ICPs e.g. QS, PM
* Proven expertise in contract management, ideally NEC3 and NEC4, FIDIC.
* Recognised credibility in the NEC community (e.g. speaking engagements, publications, working groups).
* Strong understanding of project management, commercial governance, and contractual compliance.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills at all levels.
* Ability to translate complex contractual concepts into accessible, actionable insights.
* Passionate about technology and software solutions for the construction industry
* A self-starter comfortable working independently to manage the requirements of the role
* Ability to influence and motivate team members and other colleagues
* A desire to be constantly learning and taking onboard best practice.
The role is remote-based, although you will be required to travel to their Bristol HQ occasionally to attend sales meetings and/or events.
