The Opportunity

A Tier 1 main contractor delivering a high-profile £150m new build construction project in Norwich is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Site Manager to take ownership of Temporary Works, Health & Safety compliance, and Site Logistics.

This critical infrastructure project demands a forward-thinking, highly organised manager with strong operational experience in complex site environments. You'll play a key role in driving site safety, managing temporary works coordination, and ensuring seamless movement and operation across a large-scale, multi-zone site.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate all Temporary Works planning, design interface, inspection, and sign-off processes

Manage full Health & Safety implementation on site in line with corporate and legal standards

Drive a positive safety culture through inductions, toolbox talks, audits, and reporting

Develop and execute a comprehensive logistics strategy, including:

Site access control

Material deliveries and storage

Crane/lifting plans

Welfare setup

Traffic and pedestrian management

Liaise with internal teams, subcontractors, safety advisors, and the principal designer

Maintain key site documentation including permits, RAMS, daily records, logistics plans, and temporary works registers

Ideal Candidate

Experienced Senior Site Manager with a track record on major construction projects (ideally £50m+)

Strong knowledge of temporary works procedures and regulations (TWCT desirable)

Demonstrable leadership in H&S compliance, safety culture, and site logistics

Background in complex or high-risk environments such as infrastructure, healthcare, or large commercial builds

Excellent communication, organisation, and contractor coordination skills

Qualifications:

SMSTS

CSCS (Black Card minimum)

First Aid

Temporary Works Coordinator (preferred)

NEBOSH or IOSH (advantageous)
