PPM Engineer
Trade Recruit is looking on behalf of our client, a well-established and respected building services company, for a skilled Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) Engineer with a strong electrical background.
This is a mobile role covering a variety of commercial and residential sites across Central and Greater London. The role involves ensuring buildings remain safe, compliant, and operating at peak efficiency through high-quality planned maintenance, fault finding, and reactive repairs.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical and mechanical systems.
* Attend and resolve reactive maintenance issues within agreed timescales.
* Perform fault finding, diagnostics, and testing to ensure systems meet regulatory standards.
* Work on a wide range of systems, including:
* Distribution boards and wiring systems
* Emergency lighting
* Fire alarm testing and maintenance
* Lighting and small power installations
* HVAC controls (desirable)
* Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Liaise with clients, site managers, and contractors in a professional manner.
* Take part in a 1-in-6 call-out rota and cover occasional overtime.
* Ensure company vehicle, tools, and equipment are kept in good condition.
Requirements
* Minimum 7 years’ experience in building services, facilities maintenance, or electrical engineering.
* Recognised electrical qualifications, including:
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (essential)
* 2391/2394 Testing & Inspection (desirable)
* Strong knowledge of planned and reactive maintenance in commercial and residential environments.
* CSCS/ECS Card (advantageous).
* Full UK Driving Licence.
* Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
