Senior Quantity Surveyor
Senior Quantity Surveyor — Winchester | £50K-£60K
Why this move
You’ll be joining an independent consultancy with solid heritage and reputation that’s expanding in a new region.
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll shape cost strategy early, sit at the table with decision-makers, and see your work land across complex, visible schemes.
Be part of an organisation that delivers on impactful frameworks and will give you a platform to grow.
The projects you’ll work on
Heritage refurb and reuse with tight constraints.
New-build education and healthcare with real stakeholder complexity.
Mixed-use and commercial fit-outs where pace matters.
Retrofit and decarbonisation programmes (whole-life cost and carbon in scope). The culture (how you’ll work)
Bespoke over bureaucracy: processes tailored to the job, not the other way round.
Cross-discipline teams: cost, PM, surveying, and sustainability in one place – fast decisions, fewer loops, and true collaboration.
Weekly CPD, paid study time, and structured MRICS support. The people (who you’ll learn from)
Seasoned PQS leaders who’ll coach you on strategy, progressions, and give you the room to grow.
A national peer group to benchmark with and share playbooks. Some of the benefits
Hybrid working and flexible hours. 30 days’ annual leave plus your birthday off. Enhanced family benefits. Employer pension contributions starting at 6%, life cover, wellbeing support (incl. virtual GP), paid volunteering days, and regular socials that build your network.
Your experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor
PQS background, confident with procurement and JCT/NEC administration. Strong change control and cashflow management. Comfortable with CostX (or similar), clear reporting, and value engineering that protects design intent.
