Salary: £30-40,000 (DOA)

A leading multi-disciplinary consultancy is currently seeking an experienced Sustainability Consultant with a strong carbon analysis background to join their building services and sustainability team. The ideal candidate will contribute to high-profile building, refurbishment and infrastructure projects, helping clients achieve measurable carbon reductions, exceeding sustainability benchmarks and embedding future-ready practices.

This role offers hybrid working options, with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.

Responsibilities for the role of Sustainability Consultant:

Lead carbon strategy, whole-life carbon assessment, embodied and operational carbon analysis throughout the project lifecycle.
Develop and deliver One-Click LCA (or equivalent simplified whole-life carbon) workflows to support design decisions, procurement, specification and reporting.
Coordinate sustainability inputs across disciplines (mechanical, electrical, structural) to ensure integration of carbon-efficient design, low-carbon materials, energy performance and systems optimisation.
Undertake audits, surveys and modelling tasks to support certifications (e.g. BREEAM, NABERS UK, ActiveScore, WELL, Fitwel) with carbon requirements.
Produce sustainability reports, statements, carbon action plans, and presentations to clients, design teams, contractors and regulators.
Advise on policies, practices and innovations in low-carbon technologies, decarbonisation pathways and building programmes.

The successful Sustainability Consultant will have:

Relevant Degree (e.g. environmental engineering, sustainable design, building services, carbon management)
Extensive track record working in sustainability or building services consultancy with a strong focus on carbon quantitative analysis.
In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with One-Click LCA.
Practical understanding of embodied vs. operational carbon, life-cycle assessment techniques, low-carbon materials, energy modelling and benchmarking.
Familiarity with UK sustainability standards and certification schemes: BREEAM, NABERS UK, ActiveScore, WELL, Fitwel, etc.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and extract carbon relevant data.
