The Client
A well-established construction company with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects across the Country. Specialising in reinforced concrete (RC) frame structures, they are expanding our project portfolio and are looking for a talented and driven Design Manager to join our growing team.
The Role
As a Design Manager, you will take the lead on managing the design process from pre-construction through to delivery, ensuring that all design elements meet both client expectations and technical requirements. You will work closely with project teams, consultants, architects, and subcontractors to ensure seamless coordination across all stages of the build.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in RC frame residential construction who can confidently manage multiple projects simultaneously and contribute to the successful delivery of high-rise and mid-rise developments.
Your role will be office based 95% of the time but will be required to visit sites every so often which can be nationally.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the design process from planning through to construction and handover.
Coordinate with consultants, structural engineers, architects, and subcontractors.
Ensure all design information is delivered in line with project timelines and budgets.
Review drawings, specifications, and technical submissions to ensure compliance with regulations and project requirements.
Lead design meetings and maintain clear communication between stakeholders.
Support the pre-construction and estimating teams during the tender process.
Resolve design-related issues promptly during the construction phase.
Ensure health & safety, buildability, and value engineering are considered in the design.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Design Manager or Design Coordinator in the construction industry.
Strong understanding of RC frame construction and residential projects.
Degree-qualified in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Excellent knowledge of building regulations and industry standards.
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines effectively.
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Proficient in relevant software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, etc.) is advantageous
