The Opportunity
A major UK residential developer is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead the commercial function on a landmark multi-phase RC frame development in South West London. This is a flagship project delivering high-spec, mid to high rise residential units and offers the successful candidate a dynamic, fast-paced environment with clear routes to senior leadership.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing all commercial aspects of the project, overseeing a team of 6, and ensuring cost control, contract administration, and account management strategies are executed effectively across multiple phases. The successful candidate will work closely with the project and technical teams to ensure delivery is aligned with the developer's high standards and financial targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of 6 within the commercial department
Oversee account management, subcontractor negotiations, and procurement
Ensure robust cost control and accurate forecasting across all phases
Work collaboratively with project and technical teams to support programme delivery
Manage risk, value engineering, and contract administration
Provide strategic commercial input at all stages of the project lifecycleRequirements:
Proven track record working for a main contractor or developer on large-scale RC frame residential schemes
Strong leadership and team management skills
In-depth knowledge of UK construction contracts and procurement processes
Commercially astute with strong negotiation and communication skills
Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field (preferred)What's on Offer:
