Your new role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their established team in Manchester. This role offers the chance to work on major projects valued in excess of £10 million, across sectors including education, healthcare, industrial, and custodial. You will play a key part in driving commercial success, ensuring effective cost management, and leading on all aspects of the surveying function from pre-construction through to final account.
Responsibilities will include:
Managing all commercial aspects of allocated projects, ensuring financial targets are achieved.
Preparing cost forecasts, cash flows, and accurate financial reporting.
Leading procurement, tendering, and subcontractor management processes.
Administering contracts, variations, and claims in line with contractual obligations.
Providing sound commercial advice to project teams and senior management.
Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and statutory regulations.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and supply chain partners.
Supporting and mentoring junior members of the commercial team.What you will need to succeed:
Proven experience as a Senior QS with a Tier 1 main contractor.
Strong background in managing projects within education, healthcare, industrial, and prison/custodial sectors.
Track record of delivering projects valued £10m+.
Excellent knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent) and ideally chartered or working towards RICS accreditation.What you get in return:
