Your new role
Our client is seeking an ambitious Project Quantity Surveyor to join their Manchester team. This role provides the opportunity to be involved in major schemes across a variety of sectors, supporting senior colleagues while taking commercial ownership of key project elements. You will be responsible for cost management, subcontractor administration, and ensuring projects are delivered to budget and contractual requirements.
Responsibilities will include:
Supporting the commercial management of projects from pre-construction to final account.
Preparing accurate cost forecasts, budgets, and financial reports.
Procuring and managing subcontractor packages.
Assisting with the administration of contracts, variations, and claims.
Monitoring project costs, risks, and opportunities to ensure strong financial performance.
Collaborating with project teams to deliver schemes to time, cost, and quality targets.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.What you will need to succeed:
Previous experience as a Project QS with a main contractor, ideally Tier 1.
Exposure to projects within education, healthcare, industrial, or custodial sectors.
Experience working on schemes valued at £10m+.
Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
Excellent commercial awareness and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent) and working towards chartership (RICS) is advantageous.What you get in return:
