Environmental Health Officer
A client within the Public Sector based in Nottinghamshire is currently recruiting for an Environmental Health Officer to join their Environmental Health team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within an Environmental Protection environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to undertake inspections, investigations and enforcement activities across a range of environmental protection duties to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and local authority policies.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Undertaking inspections of premises, business operations, construction sites and permitted processes.
Writing IPPC reports and risk rating premises.
Reviewing permit applications and processing variations.
Supporting technical officers with statutory nuisance investigations.
Carrying out enforcement action where required.
Providing professional advice in relation to environmental protection and pollution control.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
Diploma or Degree in Environmental Health (or equivalent).
Demonstrable experience in environmental protection/pollution control and statutory nuisance.
Full UK Driving Licence.The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
Knowledge and experience in contaminated land.
Knowledge and experience in planning consultations with ability to deliver high quality responses.
Knowledge of Local Authority air pollution control legislation, standards and guidance.
Knowledge of statutory nuisance legislation and investigation processes.
Understanding of noise monitoring equipment, protocols and standards.
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £40 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £32 per hour PAYE).
