Our client is a family-run business which has been established since 2008. They specialise in a range of services for the building industry. Services include steel fabrications, facades/cladding, curtain walling, SFS infills, SPS stand-alone, structural steel frames, enclosures and windows.

Their skilled team aim to work to the highest possible standard, and pride themselves on working quickly to meet the strict deadlines of the construction industry.

They are successful and growing, have 12 core permanent employees, and their turnover has gone from £16m in 2022 to £40m this year.

They work in a range of sectors, including education, student accommodation, healthcare and commercial buildings, a recent project being the full recladding of 2, 35-storey towers.

Directors are fair, they value their employees and treat them well, and the team is very friendly and supportive.

The role of Assistant Estimator

You will be fully supported and trained by the Senior Estimator. The role is fully remote, but you will have daily team meetings together

The first year will be spent learning the different trade packages they deliver and the mechanics of the role. As you progress, you will work on the full external envelope of a building, and you will tender for work and commercially deliver the schemes (Estimating & Quantity Surveying)

You will be working across the trades and industries covered by the business.

2 visits per month to the Colchester office – 9-3 to allow for travelling time.

The right person

You will have 1 year plus experience working as a Trainee or Assistant Estimator.

You will understand how to put a tender together

You will understand the basic principles of estimating and how a building goes together

Full training will be given on the trade packages. Estimators from all construction backgrounds are invited to apply
