Associate Director Principal Designer

We are seeking an Associate Director to lead and grow the Principal Designer / CDM capability within a dynamic consultancy in Leeds. This is a senior appointment with responsibility for delivering complex projects, developing client relationships, and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

Act as Principal Designer on a range of major projects across sectors including commercial, residential, and infrastructure.

Lead the delivery of CDM advisory services, ensuring compliance with current legislation.

Provide strategic input to clients, supporting them in managing design risk and health and safety obligations.

*

Oversee and mentor a growing team of consultants, driving professional development and excellence.

*

Support business development activities, contributing to bids and client presentations.

*

Represent the business as a senior leader, contributing to overall strategy and growth.

Key Requirements

Significant experience in a Principal Designer / CDM role, ideally with consultancy background.

*

In-depth knowledge of CDM Regulations and related legislation.

*

Proven ability to manage high-value projects and lead client engagement.

*

Chartered Membership (CMIOSH, RICS, CIOB, or similar) preferred.

Strong leadership and mentoring skills with ambition to help shape and grow a team.
