Red Sky Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a leading engineering services contractor, seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join their team on high-value, complex projects.
This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a business recognised for delivering major infrastructure projects across multiple sectors, including rail, nuclear, power, and water.
The Role
As a Senior Planner, you will be responsible for developing and managing realistic, efficient, and workable project programmes that meet both contractual and client requirements. Working closely with operational and commercial teams, you will play a key role in ensuring project success through effective planning, progress monitoring, risk management, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement contract baseline programmes using ASTA Powerproject.
Facilitate integrated planning meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
Monitor progress and productivity, producing clear reports (e.g. S-Curves, Resource Histograms, Earned Value Analysis).
Manage contract change, integrating variations into project plans and communicating impacts.
Support bid management and provide planning input into tender activity when required.
Conduct risk analysis in collaboration with Project Managers.
Lead and mentor junior planners, fostering a high-performing planning function.
Ensure compliance with health & safety, contractual obligations, and internal processes.
Requirements
Extensive experience in a planning role within major construction projects.
Strong knowledge of NEC3 contracts.
Proficiency in ASTA Powerproject.
Previous site-based experience in sectors such as Rail, Power, Nuclear, or Water.
Completed craft apprenticeship or equivalent/higher qualification.
Professional accreditation such as APM is desirable.
